The Nevada State Railway Museum Boulder City offers a heritage railway where you can take a ride in a historic train and even operate a train yourself. Here you can witness standard-gauge and narrow-gauge locomotives in action and a selection of motor cars from the history of steam railways.
The museum also offers ongoing and rotating exhibits, including those celebrating the completion of the transcontinental railway in 1869 at an event called the "Golden Spike" in Promontory Point, Utah. The museum has the last piece of rolling stock from that event, known as Coach #17.

The Nevada State Railway Museum Boulder City offers a wide range of exhibits dedicated to preserving Nevada's railway heritage. Many of these come from the famed Virginia and Truckee Railway. Other equipment represents film and TV props from Hollywood.
The train rides are perhaps the highlight of the experience, as you can climb aboard a real, operating, historic steam train. You can also ride a handcar and operate railway equipment. Ongoing special events, lectures, history symposiums, and rotating exhibits complete the experience. Coach #17 from the Golden Spike event is perhaps the key attraction amongst the historic cars.
