North Las Vegas features several casinos including the Alamo Casino and Bighorn Casino. Both of these places offer slot machines and table games of all varieties so you can get that Vegas gaming experience without the crowds. Outdoor adventures are plentiful as well at places like Sunrise Mountain, where you can go hiking and get panoramic views of the glorious Mojave Desert.
The Kiel Ranch Historic Park lets you visit one of the oldest buildings in the Las Vegas region and a cemetery with graves that date to the 19th century. The Nellis Dunes are an archaeological site that allows you to walk the pathways of indigenous people who lived here long before European settlers expanded to this area. If relaxation is what you want, you can head to Prentiss Walker Memorial Park and Pool, Joe Kneip Park, Deer Springs Park, or Aviary Park.

History of North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas began with the establishment of a ranch by Conrad Kiel at what would later be the crossroads of Carey Street and Losee Road. Today, the Kiel Historical Park commemorates that founding. The town was officially founded in 1919 by Thomas L. Williams, who had a disdain for the rowdiness of Las Vegas. The first business was established here in 1924.
By the 1930s, new workers from the Hoover Dam had settled, and the town's growth began. World War II saw the opening of what would later become the famous Nellis Air Force Base. The city was formally incorporated in 1946. Today it covers over 100 square miles of the Mojave Desert. It's by and large a residential community whose economy is dominated by the manufacturing, distribution, and industry sectors. Many visitors come here for a quiet, refined family holiday that offers gaming and fun without crowds.

North Las Vegas is a sort of quieter, more serene sister to Las Vegas proper. Though it's a large city of over 250,000 people, it doesn't have the rowdy and boisterous crowds and noise of Vegas. The attractions here do offer some of the Las Vegas allure, such as the casinos, but much of what you'll find here are historic locations, outdoor adventure, and city parks. This city offers a more sedate and relaxing holiday experience.
City streets are quite walkable, and most of the businesses here are fully disability accessible and wheelchair friendly. For information on the accommodation of a specific business, you should contact them directly. There's little worry about finding family-friendly attractions here, and with the possible exception of the casinos, kids will be welcome at most places. Dogs can be walked on leashes in public areas, but many businesses only allow service animals.
