Lovely pub - we had lunch one day and the food was amazing. The staff are all really friendly. The room itself is a little tired but fine for one night.

Chose this stay to break a long journey and what a great choice. Had a nice meal and a few beers, so much nicer than a generic travel lodge, plenty of character and nice surroundings. Room was clean and functional with decent Wi-Fi for my needs.

Uncomfortable bed, no food in the evening, uninterested staff. Dirty throw on the bed, hair on the duvet, dirts glasses in the room. Very poor overall

Comfortable & Clean, slightly cold upon arrival but a few mins with the heater on resolved that, in general it was great value for money with Donkey picture on the wall (I donate monthly to the donkey sanctuary) & heilan cooā€™s in the bathroom (Iā€™m also Scottish) only negative was the sound proofing from neighbouring rooms, the snoring !!! Gosh ! However, it was more homely than youā€™d have realised, thank you.

Really nice looking room, however just needs some TLC, especially the shower extractor which was filthy. Staff just told me where the room was and didnā€™t explain anything especially how to turn the shower on. Really quiet at night and had a great sleep

Fantastic staff that went out of their way to make our stay excellent. Kept kitchen open for us so we could eat after arriving late, lovely treats for our kids and lovely comfy rooms. Will definitely stay again.

With only two rooms available, having them clean and presentable shouldnā€™t be a problem. However, I had soiled sheets - which although I was assured were definitely clean (the smell tells me they werenā€™t), they were only changed at 11pm that evening. Not great. The bathroom was also smelly and unclean. The walls are very thin, so you also arenā€™t going to get much sleep. That being said, if you like gossip, youā€™ll hear plenty of it from the owner in the bar. I would spend the extra couple of quid and stay elsewhere in future.
