I stayed at Little Rushbrook Cottages as a preferred alternative to a hotel when working in Shirley. I arrived in the evening to find the cottage nicely warmed up (it was cold out), immaculately clean and very well presented. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook, and had a fresh litre of milk in the fridge along with tea, coffee and sugar. Some breakfast foods (cereals, porridges and jams) were also provided. The bedroom was very comfortable, lots of storage to unpack your cases and plenty of sockets for the all important phone & tablet chargers. The en-suite shower room was immaculate, the water was hot and plenty of towels available, and a full set of toiletries if you have forgotten anything.
It's a quiet country village area, with some good restaurants nearby, and Christine that runs the cottages is very pleasant. The horses in the stables next door all add to it. There's ample parking, in fact the only down side was that when I looked at booking for the next visit, my dates were not available. I'll keep trying though.
