Firstly, they lied to us from the photos online. It is not a detached building with a lawn in front, it is in a row of restaurants, facing a busy & noisy main road a stone's throw away from the railway station. There is NO lawn of any sort at all.
Moving inside, the lobby was not terrible except for resident flies that entered & left occasionally. The person at the reception had no idea of our booking & had to make some calls. However, the rooms upstairs were so disappointing it forced us to cancel our booking there and then and go somewhere else.
Stinking bathrooms, loose taps, black patches on the mirror & tracks of mud in the corridor greeted us. Then, the A/C stopped working in one room. The hotel employee casually said "Sometimes it fuses, but it comes on now & then." In the other room, it rattled constantly.
Finally, the employees were intolerable. Besides the employee who "fixed" the A/C, a rude, discourteous young man refused to give us a third towel (they had provided two for three people) , saying that "they are in the laundry, they'll come later." After arguing, he came back with a towel & soap & tossed it on the bed. The towels looked like they had been in use for years !
This 1-hour ordeal ended once we had left the hotel & the manager refused to give us our deposit - we had paid him RS 500. Further he told us the change was Rs 1500 per room which was higher than the Rs. 1000 that I had booked via the Expedia website. Overall it was a horrible experience
