Not impressed
I was traveling with my five kiddos (aged 1-8) from Kentucky to Alabama when I became ill. I needed to stop for the night. From a gas station parking, I tried booking a hotel for us so we could stop for the night, but I accidentally selected the wrong city. I chose this hotel, instead of the holiday inn in the city we were located. I realized the mistake as soon as the confirmation came through and called to correct it within 5 minutes. They refused to help me, even to transfer my booking to the Holiday Inn where I was at. They told me to talk to hotels.com.
When I called hotels.com they said they would intervene and call to request a refund, and not to worry because these are almost always granted. However, the hotel refused to grant it that night, and days later I received an official notice that they had denied the refund. Not even a partial refund. I was out $174, which was a big chunk of our spending cash for our little vacation. It's not like I took this room off the market for a long time to where they lost the chance to rent it. I literally called within 5 minutes. Just seemed a little heartless. Very unimpressed with management.
