Wonderful location but unit needs attention
The good: first off, the location of this apartment is amazing. It is located on Fortaleza street in a part that is actually blocked off to traffic by police for the Puerto Rican White House. You have to go through barricades to get to it (no issue, everyone was polite and seemed familiar with the process). There are some really pretty lights hanging that draws tourists on the weekends. Very picturesque!
The annoying: The check in process was cumbersome. I received no less than four text messages from the management company asking me to complete a web check in form after I already completed it. Lots of unnecessary back and forth to make sure that the reservation was correct and ready for us.
The bad: The apartment was dirty. Lots of dust and cobwebs. The doors to the closet and bathroom in particular had layers of dust - a previous tenant had written "clean me" with their finger but no one ever did, so clearly this has been an ongoing issue. A dead roach in the corner. Some of the furniture was broken, including the seats on the dining chairs. Light bulbs burned out.
All in all, I'd say the location outweighed the other issues, but FYI.
