We booked hotel le blues in grand baie, mauritius on a last minute whim for a new years eve as it was top suggestion for the hotel-flight package we opted for on expedia.we then tried to contact hotel several times but no one bothered to pick up. We wanted to Ask them for pick up from the airport. We called expedia to complain, most times they claimed they did not have a second telephone number or website for this hotel, each time putting us on hold for ages. They did provide us a an email address but we never got a reply to our mails. After repeatedly calling the initial hotel number day and night some weird voices answered and spoke in mumbled tones when we told them to confirm airport pick up, or if our room had a sea view, we had booked their most expensive room, a suite, and to each and every query the answer was no problem, and the phone disconnected. When we finally arrived on our own we were told they had given our room to someone else by mistake, and after much shouting they dragged us to another hotel nearby, where next day we were again told to leave as they had booked guests. When we threatened to go to cops claude suddenly said our room in le blues was now available. It had no sea view, the sofa was not big enough for two, everything falling apart in the room, no tea or sugar, jan1 breakfast room shut at 8 am. Claude lied to us that banana beach club we wanted to visit on dec 31 was overbooked so we pay for dinner in his crappy hotel. He's a conman.
