David and his mother Luli made our stay in Quito like visiting family. This beautiful, funky 70-year-old casa with 9 guestrooms was like going home. Not a Hostel, not a Hotel, but in-between. Our private room had a comfortable King-sized bed and a private bath. Perfectly secure, and SILENT at night. I mean, in a city of 2.6 million people, it was SILENT AT NIGHT. For $16.00 a night. Are you kidding me? Kitchen down the hall, if you feel like morning coffee, or cooking three meals a day to stay within your budget. Adorable rooftop garden to kick back and meditate in, including adorable cat. David picked us up at the airport, and brought us right to the front door. Bus station three blocks away, 25 cents to anywhere in the city, or, two bucks for a cab. If you are wanting to add the capital of Ecuador to your itinerary, and are on any kind of a budget, and feel a bit adventurous, get to Casa Agua Canela!
