On arrival was given room key, I asked about aircon told yes in room. Then I mentioned safe, receptionist gave me a key, no mention of charge. I was not informed about breakfast times or WiFi. Young girls English wasn’t good. Taken to my room, which was ground floor beside kids swimming pool. Very noisy as was next to pool services room, also didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the balcony as peoples sunbeds were right up against the railings at my balcony, couldn’t have curtains open as no privacy. On arrival to the room, there was a fridge in middle of floor defrosting & a pool of water surrounding it. Was cleaned up within 30mins by cleaner but felt this should’ve been checked before arrival. The room was smelling of smoke, being a non smoker it was noticeable. The bed was very uncomfortable but was clean. Only had breakfast a few times but that was my choice. On departure, I handed my room key & safe key over to same girl at reception. She Google translated asking if I had made payment for the safe. I explained she hadn’t told me there was a charge as I would’ve paid on arrival. She didn’t understand so owner of hotel had to come. His words were “darling” everything is extra charge. I explained the girl hadn’t told me this but she lied to him saying she had. He wasn’t happy with me & just gave me a hand gesture & said forget it. I was made to feel embarrassed as I if I had been told about this charge I would’ve had no problem paying in advance. Feel hotel is overpriced.
