A regular place that could be better.
Staying in the Pod Brooklyn in February was an overall ok experience. The place has a good localization and bring us close to the Brooklyn neighborhood and the isle. Staff helped me when I needed to change the room. They served every day complimentary coffee (not breakfest, just brew coffee). Now, let's face the cons:
1. I found many communal places in the Pod closed.
The terrace where you can find a golden bear was closed, and only a sign apologizing for the inconvenience was to be found, no more explanations (I haven't taken a picture of the sign, tho).
The ex-cafeteria/restaurant: my partner who stayed in Pod Brooklyn in 2022 told me they used to serve food in the cafeteria. He said the place was always open and it served of a meeting hub for the pod, where people could play the many board games (still) available in a shelf next to the entrance in the many tables available. Nowadays, the place closes by 2pm, shortly after the complimentary coffee.
2. Walking tours were very far from our Pod (see the picture): the Hotel offered walking tours but NONE of them started from Pod Brooklyn. Even in the DUMBO tour you were supposed to go straight to Pod 39 in Manhattan in order to come back to Brooklyn and see it.
3. We had some bad experience with some amenities like soup bars and shampoo refills, which might explain why my partner rated as poor the overall service. Some comentaries concerning our journey back to the airport by metro/train were also disgraceful.
