My husband and I stayed here for one night to break up the long drive from Merzouga to Marrakesh. We had no expectations as it was just meant to be a quick stop, but we were so taken by this great little place that I wish I could have stayed longer! (read: I actually begged my hubby, but our stay in Marrakesh was booked and non-refundable). The hosts are meant to be curteous and accomodating, and the host here was no exception! He met us and guided us to the riad, and always had a smile on his face.
We booked the room with the private balcony and valley view, and it was amazing. This is a no frills kind of place, but had just the right amenities. We watched the sunset from the top of the medina, and the sunrise from our balcony. Ait Benhaddou is quiet because there are no scooters or cars in the medina! So, the riad is quiet as well, and I was just in heaven here.
We had dinner and breakfast here, and enjoyed our evening mint tea on our balcony.
The only con is that the wifi router is on the terrasse and is hard to connect when you're in your room, but that is hardly a problem.
We learned the riad was previously a berber house, which helps explain the very cool layout. It is so picturesque!
Zero complaints, and was happy to stumble across this gem. Would gladly return!
