I feel bad leaving a negative review because the staff were very friendly, and they were doing their best with limited resources and staff, in an old building. I guess the owner doesn't feel like spending any money on the place.
Aside from being sandwiched in between a loading dockyard and massive, smoke-producing factories, the view was nice (if you looked straight ahead). It was an old place, and while sometimes these kind of places from the 70s and 80s can be charming, this one was quite dirty. Our first room was very dusty, and had obviously not been vacuumed. The carpet and sofa were also stained many times over, so much so that we wouldn't even take off our shoes.
They gave us a larger room, which we accepted, though this was also quite dusty and had pencil shavings of all things on the floor. I didn't complain again because the lady was so nice and apologetic, but you don't get what you pay for. The curtains were stained gray on the bottom and the place just felt tired. All they need to do is wipe down the tables and bedside shelves before a customer arrives and things would be a lot better.
The free water at the entrance was empty, and the bin that collects the used towels in the bath was overflowing with wet towels. The bath was also extremely small, with no outdoor bath.
The breakfast was great and the staff was really nice, but beyond that, I don't know what there is to recommend about this place. I can see they are struggling, but that's the truth of it.
