This hotel is not terrible but given the prices, it is underperforming. We had 2 nights booked here, and chose to leave after one, going to the cheaper but far far superior Earls Regency hotel. Despite my complaints the manager was not able to refund the one nights stay - not great customer service. I don't normally leave reviews, but thought travellers expecting a certain standard should heed this advice.
Good stuff - staff friendly, but manager unable to offer refund. View is nice, but there are plenty of ways to get the same view at other locations in Kandy.
Bad stuff - the high price for the standard of the accommodation (3* at best). Given the reviews we were expecting a pretty decent hotel by modern standards. Unfortunately our room did not live up to expectations - multiple stains on soft furnishings, sticking plaster with hair on the bedhead, broken tap, dead insects in the lights, breakfast was very average. We also complained that the tv (audio) did not work, the phone did not work, the aircon remote did not work, there were no hand towels in the room, there was no swimming pool, etc etc.
Summary - not a terrible hotel, but much better options out there, suggest you think twice before booking
