I loved staying at Grosvenor. The welcome when I arrived was fantastic and I was checked in within minutes. The room was spacious and clean, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. The living room area and breakfast verandah offered amazing views of Simonstown, the harbour, and the coastline beyond. The owner's dog, Trixie, is often there during the days and is a gentle, loving pooch that I loved greeting every day.
It's a little out of the way, just off the main road and up a steep street but this means it's so quiet and peaceful. Parking outside was never a problem as the area is so safe.
The staff were incredible friendly and always looking for ways to help me in any way they could. The breakfast selection was plentiful with many different options.
The only negatives for me, they're minor and perhaps pertain only to me, were that the Wifi, while free, was limited and you could end up being cut off for the day, the connection was also a bit spotty at times. The other thing was the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. As someone who likes to have some cold drinks available to me, this was a little annoying but certainly not a holiday-ruiner.
When I travel to Cape Town again, I'm certainly going to try and stay at Grosvenor - easily one of the best guest house experiences I've had.
