We needed a place to stay for work during the 4th of July holiday, and had heard this motel was better than it appeared from the outside.
We had reserved a king size, non-smoking. When we got to the motel to check in, the manager told us he didn't have the room we reserved but offered to give us a different room for the first night, saying our room would be available the following night. I wish I had taken pictures of the room. While it was livable, it definitely needed some repairs.
The next morning we packed our car back up, returned the key and went to work. When my husband left work in the evening to check into the new room and unload the car for the second time, the manager said "the room still isn't available" and put us back in the same room. The linens hadn't even been changed (I could tell by the cigarette burn marks in the blankets), which indicated to me that they never planned on moving us to a different room.
We decided switching rooms was too much hassle on top of a rough week of work, so we made due with the double beds.
We had hoped this motel would be nice enough that we could plan to stay here every time we go up for work (twice a year, totaling 2 weeks), but it looks like I'll have to find a different place to stay.
