Check in was swift with the friendly staff, they also took our bag around 11:30 before our check ib at 3 to allow us to travel light on our first day around the city. Room was very clean, had a fan already in the room which helped during the heatwave. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for prepare the odd evening meal, breakfast or packed lunch for the day. Labels were provided for the fridge and our things were secure during our stay. The common room is off limits to guests, which was a conflict of the photos of things available prior to booking, so my daughter couldn’t play pool as she’d hoped, but no biggie. Soft drinks I. The vending machine were £2.50 each, so we opted to by out when we could. Wasn’t aware no eating or drinking was allowed in the rooms, so we had to get dressed out of our PJ’s before having a cuppa in the kitchen area while still half asleep. All in all we were very happy with our stay, the bed was advertised small, but me and my teenage daughter slept in it fine for our four nights. Make sure you use your fob to lock your door on leaving the room as it doesn’t automatically lock. Shower was ample pressure, and plenty toiletries, tea, coffee and sugar was always available at the front desk. Ear plugs are also available at the desk if you find the loudness of the doors closing in the building an issue, but it was fine really. The location was brill, close to the palace and royal mile and close by bus stops to the shore and royal mile.
