Beautiful clean old hotel with free breakfast and convenient parking. It looked like they were doing some remodeling though and there was a mini fridge in the hall leading to the fire escape emergency exit next to our room. Room was tidy and cozy but small however this was expected as we got a room not a suite. We went to breakfast a bit later ~9 and they had all the staples(cereal, activia, bagels, sausage links, etc) however there were only a few hard boiled eggs left and they were not restocked even after a few more guests came in after us. I found it funny that they used paper dishes and plastic cutlery because it would seem they would have a lot more time to address the breakfast bar but it was still serviceable.
For any drawbacks this hotel might have however it makes up for in charm, style, and location. There is a parking lot right across the street and upper Haight is a block away. All the staff were polite as well! Highly recommend if you plan to be in this part of town.
