The room was of average quality. Some extra cleaning is required as the room smelt if wet dog the whole time and the shower was full of the previous guests hair.
The most disappointing was the breakfast. I asked for the eggs Benedict which is poached eggs in a muffin with ham spinach and a sauce.
The first issue was that they had no muffins, do did I want this on sourdough, which I agreed on. However when it, arrived there was no ham, so I duly asked the lady where it was. She took it back from me and said she would speak to the “chef”. She was new so was still trying to find her way around. When it came back the “chef” had just plonked some ham on the edges and microwaves it. It, was appealing, the eggs, were hard and the sourdough had not even been toasted so was soggy. I asked the waitress to o take it back as it was inedible. Then came the tirade of abuse from the kitchen, I heard it all. The chef came out 10 minutes, later to advise the waitress that she needed to be aware he couldn't do a lot that was on the menu. He then proceeded to ask her to open the bar and get him a pint of “gluten free” Butcombe and a soda. Which he duly opened and walked back to the kitchen with. This was, 10am in the morning! We will not be staying here again and I suggest that the owners relook at the kitchen staff. I can't fault the waitress she, was doing her best under the circumstances and she did not deserve the bullying from the so called “chef” that she was subjected to.
