Not only is this NOT a hotel, the description posted for this location does NOT say anything about the difficulty to get into the suite. We booked this months ahead of our European trip and were NEVER contacted by the owner, Laura, to let us know that:
-We needed to have someone meet us (and she did not arrange this ahead of time nor let us know).
-This suite (i.e., private apartment) is located on a pier where really only official cars are supposed to enter (those with business at the Maritime museum and tradesmen). We did end up parking there to try to find the place and were there for more than 30 minutes without any issues. (See below about the telcon.)
-There is NO signage for this location indicating that you are in the correct place except for the address no. 3 being correct. (See photos.)
-Only 1 of the 3 business owners (bars/cafes and museums in the same area) around the doorway correctly knew where this was (next door - but there was no way to get buzzed inside nor would that have helped us gain entry into our suite).
-There is no way on the website to contact the owner directly about how to get in. (Contact her ahead of time re: access and her contact info if you choose to stay here.) We had to call Expedia (at $1.00/minute using a US cell and we had to go through 2-3 levels of Expedia before they contacted the owner to have her get back to us - a more than 30-minute process on a very hot and humid mid-June pm.
