I would really like to give this place a higher rating. The facilities, pool, gym and sauna are good. The surrounding area has a lot of good restaurants and it is close to many things. Breakfast is also good.
Prior to checking in I sent a request not to be placed in a room that has mold problems as I am allergic to it. When entering the first room the air was thick and the room smelled heavily to mold, I asked them to change me into another one. The next one did not have the open bath in the bedroom but it also smelled noticeably to mold. As they did not have other rooms I had to stay there and medicate myself. After a couple of days I managed to change the room again for the last two nights, by that time I already had completely blocked sinuses, cough and fever. The third room did ease off the symptoms but the week in Saigon was a complete waste for me.
And do not buy in to the wet season explanation, of course if the hotel is not prepared for it will get a problem with mold. Having lived in southeast asia myself for nearly four years, wet season is a challenge, but with good ventilation and drying I have never had problems with this before. Avoid the place if you have problems with mold!
