I enjoy older, historic properties, and this hotel fit the bill. It was within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and Philadelphia sights. Given the location, the hotel was pleasantly quiet. The evening social was a nice touch. Bed was a bit hard for my taste. There was only one person working breakfast, so foods were replaced slowly. Given the age of the hotel, the hot water was a little slow and inconsistent. The hotel was kept quite warm, so we had to run the noisy a/c unit in our room for a quite a while to get comfortable.Just be prepared for a little quirkiness.
