Escaping Baja California before Hurricane Blanca arrived, we booked this hostel last minute and opted for the luxury twin bed room with en-suite facilities. Having never stayed in a hostel before, we were extremely pleasantly surprised and delighted with the size of our room, the overall comfort, appropriate en-suite facilities and an excellent complimentary breakfast, with a cooked different daily option which was far better than we expected. Most of the staff only spoke Spanish, but that presented no problem and they were all extremely understanding of our lack of the spoken language, helpful and obliging. We mixed well with the other guests and I loved the concept of having the possibility of free reign in the kitchen providing you cleared up everything you used. The WiFi was considerably better than that in the alleged 5* resort we had left. For a longer stay and if the weather was hotter, I suspect we would have missed air conditioning as our natural tendency is to stay in 4* plus accommodation, but we have been converted and may well use hostels in the future, especially when all you need is a clean bed, a private shower/WC and friendly surroundings and are of this standard. The centre of Coyoacan is a simple walk away and this area of Mexico City is absolutely delightful with friendly people, an abundance of interesting restaurants and cafes and much to see and do. We had a fabulous end to our extended vacation in Mexico.
