This is a nice campground. We were a family of four and stayed in a cabin, which had a cozy feel once we moved in. It was nice to sit on the porch and let our small children run around in the play area right in front of cabin. We also had a picnic table to eat at and a fire pit for campfires at night. The heated pool was quite nice. It’s a pretty good location to use as a base to explore the area. While it’s almost an hour to Hershey Park, just about everything else we did were less than a 30 minute drive. We were able to explore the heart of Amish country, make our own pretzels in Libitz, and make our own ice cream at Turkey Hill in Columbia. It was nice to come back to the campground at the end of the day and have room to run around or go swimming, as opposed to going back to a cramped motel room.
One note, when I made the reservation Hotels.com listed the room as a “Cottage”, which is an significantly different from the one-room “Cabin” we ended up with. I believe a Cottage has a kitchen, bathroom and separate bedroom, while the Cabin is simply four walls, a roof, some beds and a refrigerator. To the campground’s credit, they called us the day after we booked to make sure we knew what we were getting. It didn’t bother us as the Cabin was enough, but I thought I’d point out that there is some confusion in how it’s listed on Hotels.com.
