A traditional Japanese house
Fushimi Ohana is a traditional Japanese house that is located in a quiet neighborhood. We LOVE the design of it. Staying there is like leading a local Japanese's life, which is quite nice. The people in the neighborhood seem quite nice.
The facilities are good and the place is clean. The self check-in provided us with good flexibility and was clearly instructed. It could be a little cold in winter though as the heaters are not quite enough for the big house. But it is an interesting experience for people who come from warmer places.
To travel to the major tourist spots from the house, you often need to take th train and travel to Kyoto Station for transfers. But it is fast.
Not many stores or restaurants open at night around that area, except one convenience store. So prepare your stuff early.
