The lodge is extremely clean and mosquito free.
The balcony is a piece of private beach with strechers for reserved sunbathing.
To swim you need to access the beach from the bar, which is not more than a minute walk from any room. On high tide you can dive from your balcony and then access the stairs to the bar, because the beach is gone, but on wet tide you can explore the ocean floor for over 100 meters with water up to your ankles.
Even during dry season (July to Septembe) you can expect occasional showers.
Don't bring your umbrella tough, or beach/pool towels though, as the hotel provides them.
At first you may find the foid and beverage prices higher than in some countries in Europe, but you won't eat that well or cheaper in Stone Town.
The cuisine is great, and served in generous portions.
There is some music ambience at the evening but ends soon enough so everyone rests.
It is an excelent place to relax the most and enjoy a paradisiac beach.
It's far from other places, but I will let you judge if it is worth leaving the resort to explore Zanzibar.
I'd say spending a day in Stone Town including the Prison Island tour is enough, maybe the forest if you are not taking some Safari tour in Tanzania besides your Zanzibar stay.
Other than that there is no point in leaving the resort for. The most well soent time I had in Zanzibar was at the resort.
Just forget the idea of living like a king in Tanzania with a few bucks/euros. There the resort has the best quality/price ratio
