The hotel is beautiful and it seemed it should be 5 stars. Our challenges may be somewhat unique but still worth sharing. As a primarily ski hotel, there is no AC or air of any sort in the rooms. The first night, we asked for a fan and they said they were all claimed, and we should just open the door at night. Unfortunately, as we explained, we had a ground floor room and a dog, so opening the door meant he could walk out at night. In 4 days, they never did manage to get us a fan (silly for something so inexpensive.) This caused us a number of challenges (the dog did get out, also we were there to remote work and sometimes wanted to be in the room during the day to take calls, but it was quite hot even with the door open). Also the gym, which I expected to be small, didn't have any free weights or mats to stretch, which seem like standard small gym items to me. The staff were mostly nice, but the one woman we kept asking about the fan just generally treated us as inconvenience (they also wrote number wrong on our car keys so couldn't find our car...lots of little things like that that didn't feel right for a 5 star hotel). Finally, the dog costs 40 euros extra PER DAY which seemed extreme and isn't mentioned on Expedia, esp annoying considering the tiny dog bowls they provided. It's a beautiful area and convenient to town, so I guess it would be a great hotel if you didn't have a dog and weren't there in the middle of summer and were lucky to deal with one of the nicer staff
