I booked property same morning 5 hours prior to our arrival. I received immediate email confirmation of my stay and that I would receive a follow up email w a code to the lock box closer to check in (3:00 pm); I checked my email 3x times in route and nothing. We arrived about 2:40 and still no email or any communication re lock box code and entry! I called the property 3 times at the number listed on Expedia reservation as well as their own website but no answer, each time leaving a VM. I called Expedia who put me on hold and attempted to reach the property, same results! Expedia gave up after another wait and attempt and offered to book me someplace else, a Best Western.. I refused since not a similar property off the beach/boardwalk area which was the attraction to booking in the first place. A competitor property next door attempted to call property mgr at a different number they had and left a msg to give me a call.. a guest staying on a lower level who I introduced myself to also called and did same.. 2 1/2 hours later while dining nearby, I received a call from Tiffany, the property check in rep apologizing that she had not noticed the reservation & didn’t have access to email for a while! Unbelievable, since there was no issues w booking the property n getting a confirmation email (which I suspect was auto generated). Who’s manning the gatehouse?? After requesting n initially refuted I was granted a 4 pm check out. That was nice but an xtremely frustrating xperience!
