I didn't know what to expect at Kaya Hotel. I arrive daily early and was told they were full and the room wasn't ready. The hotel was not full, in fact when I did check in, I never saw another person on my floor. No problem, they looked after my luggage for me. The staff were friendly. But what seems to be the problem here, is a severe lack of staff training. I dined in all 3 areas that sell food. I have dined in all of them several times before with no problem. This time was a little different. The top restaurant on the 15th floor had great tasting food and great service. Their staff were very friendly and the food peortions were big. Well done. I had breakfast on the ground floor. Breakfast was ok. I had cereal and scrambled eggs and a juice. These were all good. But there was only green tea. Please supply black tea (liptons or the like). I tried the sausages. They were not nice, so didn't eat any more than 1 bite. Again, the staff were friendly and nice, but a bit of staff training, to show them what a bowl is, would help. I asked for one for my corn flakes and was handed a coffee mug. But the pool bar was where the problems were for this hotel. I was handed a menu by one of the staff (male) and I pointed to a vanilla ice cream milkshake and told him the name in Vietnamese. He bought me 2 scoops of ice cream. I said no and asked for the menu. A great girl brought it out to me and I showed what I had ordered. The fries with cheese I ordered was a very small serving too.
