I had a disappointing experience during my stay. I had arranged and paid for an early check-in to move it forward from 15:00 to 12:00 for 40 euros, but when I arrived, I was told it was too late. The reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive, which was frustrating.
The issues didn’t stop there. I had also pre-arranged parking, only to find out that it was located at another hotel, and the space reserved for me was too small for my car. I managed to find parking within the city walls, but I was told it might be a tow zone. When I asked reception if they could check, they refused and instead told me to park outside the walls of Saint-Malo at an additional cost of 40 euros—despite the fact that I had already paid for internal parking.
To top it off, the reception area had an unpleasant odor, and the room was disappointing, with worn sheets, tired carpeting, and visible marks on the walls. The whole place felt rundown and in need of refurbishment. Not the start to my weekend break that I expected, and overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.
