Out of all 7 hotels we stayed in during our Sri Lanka trip, this was by far the worst! It was overpriced and lacked the service you would expect for the charges occurred. Due to a booking error we had ask for an extra bed for our children, which they did immediately, however what annoyed us was that they told us about the extra $18 per night not when we requested the bed, but as we were booking transfer through them for $70 to the national park.
The laundry count sheet didn't clearly state who was to count the items, so we left it blank. When we handed the laundry to reception, we were asked to count our laundry there on the floor in front of departing guests.
The bill for laundry was a whopping £42/$65 for a small bag.
Our bedding started smelling a bit, so we placed the card to request for it to be changed on the bed, but as we discovered that night, the bedding was still smelly, we knew all they did was swap the bedding from one bed to another due to a small stain being on the sheet, which was on the children's sheet afterwards.
Housekeeping was generally sloppy. The manager did nothing to compensate our complaints .
On a good note, the location and setting are good for bird watching, nice pool and good restaurant staff.
Please note we understand you get what you pay for and have spent a lot of time in this part of the world in a wide range of accommodation between £5 a night and £ 100 per night.
