I booked the Inn after reading numerous positive reviews, especially about the staff, but our experience was entirely different. We had a long flight from Boston to Denver, then drove from Denver to Crested Butte in heavy rain. When we arrived at the Inn around 5:00 PM, we were soaking wet and were greeted in the worst possible way. There was no one at the front desk to check us in, just a note stating that the staff was unavailable and that keys for guests who had not yet checked in were left on the table. However, I couldn't find our key.
I called the number on the note at the front desk, but no one answered. Then I called the number in my booking, only to hear the phone at the front desk ring. I contacted Expedia for assistance, but they were unable to help, stating it was peak season and no local staff were available. We waited for about 30 minutes, and still, no one came.
Finally, I called the number on the note again, and a man named Ryan answered. He arrived 10 minutes later, yelled at us as if we were at fault, checked us in with a terrible attitude, and did not apologize. When I asked if the service was always this bad, he stared at me and claimed he didn’t understand what I was saying. He handed me the key, slammed the door in my face, and drove off in his Jeep in a very rude manner. After a long flight and a rainy drive, being welcomed in such a terrible way was unimaginable. However, at least we were finally able to check in.
