Having high expectation for our first visit, was rather excited at the prospect of a night at the establishment. Parking was amply and check in was rather pain free, They do take a £150 deposit for incidentals, not an issue.
Entering the room from a rather steep and narrow staircase with uneven floor, the initial impression of one the room had been shoe horned into a corner at the top of the building.
I appreciate the room was the Snug type (only one available) but it really was a shoebox of a room, no where to sit and relax other than on the bed, extremely cramped when getting changed, but what made it worse was the lack of working air conditioning, extremely humid room and no one to cool down. Reports to reception were greeted with it takes 10 minutes to activate the air con, never heard so much tripe in all my life. Simply a tactic to not take the issue seriously. Having claimed to have visited the room we were reassured all was not operating. Sorry, absolute no difference, it seemed any further interaction with reception would result in similar ineffective results and would put a further damper on our stay. So we simply pretended the room was a Sauna !!
The Thai restaurant, service was good but the food was immediately forgotten, extremely overpriced, lacking in taste and quality ingredients
Oddlyly enough when checking out the £150 previously taken was not to be utilised to take off the bill, this was paid separately and the £150 to be returned several days
