We stayed here two separate nights, on our way up to and back from Northern Finland.
The staff is exceptionally helpful. We had a very early arrival one day, and they were nice enough to have our room ready for us at 10:00. A.m.! Of course, they cannot guarantee this for everyone.
The rooms are small by American standards, Pat, if you don't have to unpack a huge amount of luggage, we had plenty of room for two adults with two big suitcases and two carry-ons.
If you are in the main building in an odd-numbered room, you will be facing the supermarket across the street, which keeps its lights on until fairly late at night. It didn't bother us, and we slept like locks. But if you need an absolutely dark room, try to get a room that is even numbered in the main building, or in the second building that is just to the north of the main building.
Breakfast and lunch buffets were both quite good. We saw lots of locals there. Not the best meals we had in Finland, but we did enjoy them.
Behind the second building, which is to the north of the main building, is the river. There is a gravel Trail that leads down to a small Pier. This is a gorgeous spot for photos. It's also pretty dark at night, so you might catch the Northern lights there.
Finally, although the hotel is at the Northern end of town, it is across the street from one grocery store and a 5-minute walk from another. You are right on the main drag, and can walk to a few restaurants and shops.
