I arrived at 20h00 and I had to wait 23 minutes to check in and chekin process took about 10 mins There were 2 people from staff but only one was doing check ins. Resources management should be improved.
After dinner, I was feeling very sick and requested thermometer at the front desk. Guess what? A 4* hotel does not have it, and recommended me to walk 800m to the next open pharmacy.
Went to bed, tried to regulate the air conditioner, but it wasn't very effective. Seems like a fan system and not a truly air conditioner like a normal 4* hotel use to have. It was impossible to have the room temperature bellow 27° during the night.
Breakfast rate is 5/10 but 3/10 if I had to compare it to a 4* Portuguese/English/french/italian hotel. No croissant, no natural orange juice, lack of fruit variety.
After breakfast, once the sickness feeling persisted, I questioned occupation level to see if I could have a late check-out and use that day to rest and get myself ready to continue the trip. It was clear that the occupation level allowed the late check-out, however, after the front desk officer had questioned the hotel manager, she told that it would be a fee of 10€.
At check out, instead of 10€, it was asked 20€ referring that they have stated 5€/hour, which they haven't. I claimed, although the English level of the staff was not ideal and I didn't want to argue too much for 10€, it simply doesn't seem reasonabe to charge for late check out when it doesn't affect anything.
