This "hotel" was the worst customer experience we ever had... and we travel a lot. We hope hotels.com will take immediate action to take it off its listings. And we will try to get our payment back.
Quick summary of the nightmare:
1) Upon arrival in the dark and after long drive, we got yelled at by the owner, that the parking lot was not available and we better park elsewhere. Never greeted us or apologized.
2) He tells us that the hotel is full. we should leave. Upon learning we reserved and paid online, he said it's impossible and that if true, hotels.com made a mistake... he still never apologized for anything.
3) Once in the room: the double bed, was two single beds pushed together, with a 5 inch gap in the middle. Impossible to sleep together in.
4) At 1am, we get a call from the owner's wife waking us up. Asking us to speak to them in the morning since hotels.com is unreliable and they might stop working with them.
5) in the morning, we arrive for breakfast at 10:15 (breakfast until 10:30). we get lectured by a server that we're so close to 10:30 and this is not how a guest is supposed to behave. She then sits us in a corner, not in the main dining area where ALL OTHERS sit, as "punishment". And because they already "set up for lunch" and are not going to let us make a table "dirty again"...
We left without breakfast and completely disgusted by the experience. Actually, incredulous might be a better word. The "Kurhaus Devin" is a true disaster
