We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Pension Elan. Having visited Bayerisch Eisenstein a few years previous, we knew the area much better and chose Pension Elan due to its proximity to the town. It's about a 1k walk into the town centre but certainly not too far to stroll down for dinner, however, the train station is the other side of town and up a hill so probably a bit far to drag your suitcases. We had the most lovely welcome from Jon when we got to the pension, and checked in no problem. He gave us two drinks on the house and explained when they would be bbq'ing if we wanted to join them for dinner, showed us the saunas and our room and left us to it. We went out for dinner but joined them for breakfast which was again lovely. A mostly cold continental breakfast - meats, cheese, bread, fruit, cereal with some pancakes thrown in. Checked out fine - but be warned, even though I reserved the room via Hotels.com with an AMEX they don't actually accept it! Left with a free Toberlarone and wel wishes having had a great nights sleep and an absolutely fabulous experience at Pension Elan. Very clean, very nice people, tourist-friendly and a lot of great facilities if you wish to use them. Would definitely stay again.
