This family run resort has a very helpful patriarch who is the go-to person for any issue that requires a decision. Something every traveler should know about this island is that it probably isn't what you're thinking of when you think of Maldives. The beach takes up a paltry ten percent of the island. Forty percent is taken up by the jetty and the other side of the island is where the garbage dump is. You can't go near the water's edge where the prison is either.
Another thing that travelers need to know especially budget travelers, is that the resort that you are staying with "owns" your right of passage back to Male, or wherever. For example, you cannot use another speedboat to go back to Male, without the "permission" of your hotel. The price of a speed boat for the twenty - thirty minute jaunt to Male can cost up to one hundred and fifty USD, compared to the ferry that is 3 USD. The ferry is mysteriously full from time to time. The hotel will gladly pick you up though. Another problem is that if you are ready to go, and the hotel is taking a group out snorkeling, then you must wait.
This particular hotel is ok. Sometimes the breakfast buffet serves stale cereal, or rotten hard boiled eggs, but generally it's a pretty good breakfast.
