I've stayed in Gisenyi several times and i've tried some of the other hotels in the area. So this is mostly a comparison with what else Gisenyi has to offer. I stayed one night. This hotel has some great amenities like a gym (I did not see it), Pool, and Sauna. They are also very close to the border with DRC. However, I would argue that it isn't worth the price. This hotel is outdated. The room I stayed in was quite tight, and the bathroom very small. Though the bed was nice and the balcony was great. The breakfast was meh, mostly the breakfast foods were not well presented and the table cloths were not clean. Bigger than that, the hotel did not seem to know how to verify my payment through hotels.com. They accused me of not paying and threatened to call the police. I asked them multiple times including the time they knocked on my door at 9pm, to please call hotels.com. The first thing I did was email them my reservation confirmation. While they continued to say that I had not paid. I found them to be very rude, unprofessional, and accusatory. In the end, I called hotels.com and hotels.com called the hotel to confirm the payment. I could not recommend this hotel again. There are many better hotels at a cheaper or equal price point.
