This hotel was quite hard to find because I didn't notice that the address is on Templeman Pasaje, not Templeman Av. A local resident I asked while searching Templeman Av. didn't know about the tiny, short alley that is Templeman Pasaje.
It is a hard walk up a steep hill when you are carrying luggage. The staff were quite helpful, although they spoke almost no English at all. Breakfast was nice, and different. If you leave the hotel for a walk you will think hard first because of the hard walk back uphill. At the foot of the hill there are lots of cheap buses going around the city.
The neighborhood is filled with very rustic buildings, many made of what looks like cast-off lumber or corrugated metal, most of them covered with folk painting or graffiti. The Latitud 33 Sur stands out because the exterior looks better than the other buildings. But the interior, as shown, is sort of artsy unpainted wooden construction.
I had the economical single room and it was very small, although adequate, and had its own bathroom.
