My stay was the WORST experience in the years I've stayed at a Marriot Courtyard. I came in from out of town for an event that was scheduled to begin at 3PM. I called the Check-in desk on 3 occasions during the day, beginning at 9:10AM, requesting the courtesy of an early check-in so that I could get dressed for the event. I was told very rudely that 'check-in is 3pm, we had a full night call back at 1:30' On my second call I was again told that check in was 3pm with no offer of any possible options. The courtesy of a concerned voice would have helped a tired traveler. I asked whether an accommodation could be made since i was traveling in from out of town. No response. On my second call around 2:12 pm, I was told that the room that was assigned to me was not ready. My third call was made around 2:50pm. I then asked whether I could be assigned another room which was ready. No response to that request! At 2:50pm when i made my third call I was simply told 'the rooms aren't ready' Each time I called I referenced the previous call. I had to freshen up and get changed in the bathroom at the event.
I attended my event and got to the hotel after midnight and checked in. There was no bath soap, no facial tissue, no bathroom tissue, no drinking water in the room! Next morning I asked one of the cleaners who gave me bathroom tissue and 2 bars of facial soap. Needless to say I won't be staying at Marriot Courtyard. Standard is definitely not what it used to be.
