Expensive hotel for what is offered: bad food
Hotel very well decorated, excellent taste! Lobby, restaurants and common areas very beautiful.
Food and service are the weak points, we were extremely disappointed in all restaurants. Cold stuff and low quality food. Big variety doesn’t mean quality, as we saw in the buffet restaurants. Everywhere else in Mexico buffet is assisted, in the hotel we served ourselves. Water offered was filtrated, (and “tasted funny”) didn’t come in a closed bottle, except inside the room.
All inclusive hotel where you had to pay for room service tax and US$7,00 for a coconut at the Beach. They had a big staff, but clearly it was missing waiters at the restaurants, the service was very slow.
All restaurants, except the 2 buffets, need to be booked. If you don’t have reservation, even if the restaurant is empty they don’t let you in. It happened to us with 3 different restaurants in the first night, as we arrived at night and of course didn’t book it.
If you go to Playa del Carmen expecting to see the blue/green Caribbean water, forget about. You should go to Cancun.
Expensive hotel for what it offers, considering food and service.
