The hotel from the outside wasn't particularly inspiring and left you with a feeling of foreboding, but very pleasantly surprised once shown our room. It had recently been redecorated and was lovely, we had a sea view and the amenities were all there to use. We were given a warm welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble for the proprietors. The breakfast selection was varied and if you asked for something different, it was made for you. I would recommend this hotel, as it was clean, well kept and friendly. I can't say the same for Bridlington itself, what a disappointment. It is 10 years since we last visited and will probably be another decade if not more before we go again. It was dirty, neglected and very run down. We had to go out in the car to find a decent place to eat an evening meal. There were numerous fish and chip places, pizza takeaways and ice cream parlours, but if you're there for a few days like we were then you need something different for your palate. The town definitely needs a complete overall in order to generate more tourism and people returning or it will end up a ghost town which would be tragic for the residents of Bridlington!!!!!
