This was NOT a bed and breakfast situation- it was more like a boarding house sleeping room thing. There were two shared bathrooms with towels on the floor, dirty tubs, toilet paper rolls on the floor, undies hanging to dry on a sinks. We had to drive to Henderson Castle, a property nearby. Luckily we had driven instead of taken a train. When we got back, though we were early, it still took us almost an hour to get into the building- after several phone calls, they finally just gave us the door code or it may have been longer.
The home was pretty but run down and dirty. Eventually, after another 20 minutes of trying to get into our room they told us to just go to another room that was open. Like other rooms we’d seen there was a toilet right in the room without anything but a thin dividing screen.
Our room had no heat control, a nice but filthy bathtub, dirty towels, and dirty blanket. There was no trash can in the frame for one. The tp had poo on it. Around 10:30 we finally got hold of housekeeping-a woman reeking of weed brought us a space heater and offered to clean up but I just did it myself. Row someone needing a boarding room for a night for a concert it would be fine if you don’t mind dirty. But it was a very unpleasant couple experience, poorly run and misleading. It was a lovely old home though and the mattress toppers were comfortable. Very convenient location minus the check in/amenities a mile away.
