Where do I start. We arrived on my birthday after about 9 months of my husband being very I’ll. it was going to be a resting couple of days to recharge. Our room was ok, a little tired and lacking draws, so everything had to be left out, making the room look untidy. There was nowhere to put our toiletries in the bathroom either. But we could live with that. Dinner we were told was at 8 pm and when we arrive there was no food out and we were told to come back in 20 minutes. When we went back there was 3 other people there. We took a look at the buffet and what a shock. There was some salad but very limited. Then some hot food, well I should say lukewarm, dried up and some was cold. So we just had salad, couldn’t really mess that up. I was so upset as it was my birthday, in fact I cried. We have stayed in in many hotels over the years and never been presented with such poor selection and food. We weren’t go to go for breakfast but my husband said let’s at least look. We did have some but even that was cold or lukewarm. The only hot thing was the eggs that were fried for us. I then went and complained to the manager, who if I’m honest wasn’t really bothered. He said he would have a word with the kitchen staff but, he never came back to me!! It really is a shame because the position of the hotel is great and Villajoyosa is lovely. So we went out to eat after that. A very disappointing time away. Good job I’m still not working for Thomas Cook!!
