Booked a standard room with air con via Hotels.com, but upon arrival, we were given a room without AC & were forced to pay $20 for something we had already paid for. The owner refused to correct the issue &was extremely rude.
Despite clear advertising, the issue was not resolved. Instead, the owner responded with this dismissive reply:
"you booked a private room without AC, you can check also you email confirmation of the room that you booked, also you can check on you right of this chat that room that you booked( Standard double room) .
you need to make sure the next time that you try to book and understand that some hostel has private room with and without AC and before you do the reservation you need to make sure if you selec the room with AC.
I saw the system and you upgrade you reservation on the site from a private room without AC to a Master suit with AC and Hot Water"
The “deluxe" room is two bunk beds pushed together, located by a highway that is under construction, many rooms back into this. Hot water is lukewarm.
Other major downsides: no kitchen, outside food is not allowed, surveillance cameras everywhere, and the shuttle stops at 7:30 PM—forcing guests to buy from them. The location is far from town, making taxi rides expensive. Worse, there's a rubbish site just a minute away, with piles of waste that is burnt so toxic fumes.
I’ve traveled extensively &never encountered such a misleading, poorly run hostel on a noisy dusty highway with burning waste.
