We were disappointed with the hotel overall, as we thought it was a 4* hotel and in our opinion should have been categorised as a 3*. Despite the information stating Self Parking, it didn’t have its own underground car park and we had to use a public car park 100 yards away, which was quite annoying. The room had satellite television, but not tuned to any UK channels, which again was not good considering the amount of British and Commonwealth tourists staying in Arras for the WW1 battlefield sites. There were a number of other criticisms of “little extras” that you would expect from a 4* hotel. The first impression of the entrance was also very disappointing, although the receptionist was extremely helpful and spoke good English. Furthermore, it hasn’t actually got a car accessable frontage, which makes it very difficult to check-in on your first arrival by car. It is however a perfect location for the railway station as it is located across the square opposite the station and the French War Memorial. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were kept nice and clean. Finally the lift - it must be the slowest lift in France! It takes less time to get to the top of the Empire State Building than the 3rd floor of this hotel!
