If you are just staying in this hotel for one night, it's not too bad. The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable, but it doesn't have much light. The biggest problem is that absolutely no one in the staff could talk in English. The first thing the lady at the reception did when she saw me was to look at me from top to bottom and sigh, like the last thing she needed was to attend to a foreigner. Because I can speak Japanese, I had no big problems, but the service was indeed poor. When I asked them if they could arrange for a taxi to be waiting for me in the early morning (I had a very early flight and tons of bags), the person told me "oh, I don't know the phone number for the taxi company"... Also, the complementary coffee is a lie. The area is good though, with lots of restaurants, convenience stores and such, and it's only around 5min walk to the Ikebukuro train station. So, if you're just staying overnight and know Japanese, this hotel is not a bad choice if you're looking for something cheap.
