Booked through Expedia months ago and there was a problem from the outset, once I got to the hotel. The hotel had cancelled my reservation, charged the third party for my two night stay, blamed then for the issue, and left it on me to resolve the problem which took two days and ruined my vacation.
Investigation showed that the fault was actually with the hotel, Expedia had names and dates to prove it, and the hotel extended no apology, refund, rebate, or any compensation nor acknowledgment whatsoever. I actually discovered a housekeeper attempting to call front desk while cleaning my room because even after being made aware of the issue, front desk hadn’t conveyed the mix up and resolution to them.
The morning dining staff however, was the best I’ve ever encountered and very courteous. The stay would have been nice had I not been spending my entire vacation trying to salvage $500.
