Our stay at Comfort Suites, Gulfport was a real disappointment. While the breakfast was decent and the housekeeping staff was wonderful—truly the best part of our stay—the rest left much to be desired.
I booked a room that sleeps six people since we had five in our party, but to my surprise, there were only four towels. On the first morning, I asked housekeeping for an extra, and they kindly provided it without issue. But the next day, I went to the front desk to request six towels. I was shocked when the staff responded, "We only provide four towels per room." I explained that we had five guests, but the response didn’t change. Eventually, they agreed to give us five towels, but not before telling me they'd need to verify we had five to exchange. Really? I’m a guest staying in your hotel, yet I’m being treated like I'm lying about needing enough towels.
This policy is absurd. If a room is meant to accommodate more than four people, then it should come with enough towels for all guests. It’s that simple.
The issues didn’t stop there. The sleeper sofa was incredibly uncomfortable—so worn out that the mattress was nonexistent. We had to buy a twin airbed from Walmart just to give our fifth guest a place to sleep. To top it off, there was no blanket provided for the sofa bed, just sheets.
In short, while housekeeping was great, the rest of the experience fell flat. Comfort Suites needs to update their policies and improve the quality of their rooms. I wouldn’t recommend it.
